I fully support your argument, and it's true that many people over hype the player, focusing only on his results with his previous team. What people don't realize is that the competition here is much more competitive and not as easy as they think. Now the fans who hyped Gyokeres up are facing embarrassment after a lackluster performance. This could be a bad start for Arsenal, or it could just be the same as last season.

Are you guys saying that in his former team, he did not have bad games? Even in Sporting, there were games where he had bad games in back-to-back matches, so why do you think a few minutes in his new team, where he doesn't perform automatically, means he is a bad player?
Even Suarez didn't hit things off immediately when he joined Barcelona from Liverpool, so it's totally normal. If he goes into the reason and doesn't perform, then you can say this, but after a friendly where he was not even ready to play the full 90 minutes, I don't think you can say this.
Gyokeres is strong, fast and a good finisher, and those are the main things an attacker needs to succeed in the EPL. With the right system he can find his way in Arsenal. Give him a little more time.
