At this rate, Zimbabwe will end up declaring and quitting instead of waiting for the Kiwis to do it themselves since this is just absurd. The ICC is trying hard to reduce test cricket popularity through these sort of matchups.

The only cricket matches that I am interested in these days are T20 ones and big team test matches. I couldn't care less about ODIs and these ridiculous test matchups.

Playing test match itself a pride and Zimbabwe attainted the status so they deserved to play as long as it needs. And yeah it looks pretty absurd to watch but for the Zimbabwe's perspective they should be happy with more game time and it also comes with a top team and that's how they can gain experience and progress to the next level.

We have T20 all round the year and definitely the dynamics of changing and in a decade or two we may have more competition than just 6 or 8 teams.
