Sparrow is only available on desktops and not mobile phone.
This Jimmy believed he was downloading a genuine version of a Sparrow Wallet app for his iPhone from the App Store.
Scammers have known already that we mostly use Android on this forum and that we do always report them. Apple app store was not mostly used before but Android Play store. But after many reports and taking down of their scam apps, they moved to App store for Apple. This is the reason App store scam wallets are many now.
It is indeed true that these guys do their research and look out for what isn’t offered, a desired service that is limited to certain aspects or gadgets and they mimic that to create a clone for their scams. I don’t think they base these schemes on the forum though. These guys understand that, a good number of cryptocurrency users enjoy the handy nature of the space, how you could move about with huge sums on just a carry on gadget and no one knows. These carry ons are mainly our smartphones and when they find apps that were localized to desktop, they try to brand a fake. Like we see several apps claiming to mine Bitcoin on mobile phones while, we well know that’s impossible and people still fall for it. Such an unlucky guy and such a huge loss.
