Bookmakers estimate the teams' odds exactly this way: Napoli is the favorite, Inter is the second favorite.
Napoli - 2.63
Inter - 3.75
Juventus - 6.00
Ac Milan - 6.50
As Roma - 11.00
The other teams have significantly smaller chances. But still, the main favorite has chances significantly smaller than even 50%, something around 35%, so we can assume that the season will be exciting again and the intrigue will remain until the last rounds. I wonder if Roma can displace anyone from the top 4? Of the "other" teams, they look the most promising.
When I said that Inter Milan and Napoli were the favourites to win the Scudetto next season, I didn't see the odds the bookmakers gave Serie A clubs to win the Scudetto next season, but the two clubs I see as favourites to win the Scudetto next season align with the two clubs the bookmakers see as favourites to win the Scudetto next season. AS Roma has failed to make it to the top 4 in the Serie A league in the past 5 years or more, and I know they can improve their performance next season and finish in the top 4, but I still believe AS Roma will find it difficult to make it to the top 4 because the competition in the Serie A league is more fierce, and AS Roma needs to be consistent in winning their matches next season to make it to the top 4.
Roma's chances are naturally low, but the reality is that almost every season one of the big four clubs falls and its place is taken by one of the pre-tops - Lazio, Atalanta, even Bologna was there. Considering that Atalanta has lowered its chances, the most promising pre-top team is Roma, maybe they will get lucky. Potentially problematic clubs are Juventus/Milan and it seems to me that they have already lost the winning mentality, when was the last time they won something (except for small things like the Italian Cup last year where Milan won).
