This could have been a great thing to do but even so, the current price of bitcoin has paid them off for being patient and believing in the technology all this years. This will affect what we call privacy, so not many of them will be willing to come out publicly to accept the award, it’s just a public recognition but will also be in tandem with their privacy if publicly awarded. There is no other way you can recognize and award someone without doing it publicly. If I happen to be any of this early adopters that believed in bitcoin and held for this long time, I won’t accept the award and just let it be. My bitcoin I have held for this long time will be more valuable for me forever than the award will be even in the future.
