Our lawmakers are debating whether to promulgate a law banning online gambling, as the present administration is concerned that the more than $700 million in revenues will be lost in taxes.
So, to prevent the government from losing huge revenues, the Central Bank has come out with these measures.
Do you think these guidelines are enough to mitigate gambling addiction?
I have seen and read the guidelines and to be very honest, the government really do care about the well-being of the citizens of the country as regards to gambling, but unfortunately, this guidelines cannot work and can not mitigate gambling addiction. But would have possibly if fiat was really the only option of payment and playing games on a casino, but as we all know, we now have several casinos using crypto currencies as mode of deposits and withdrawals, and unfortunately again, cryptocurrencies are a kind of currencies that even the government do not have control over, even if they ban the use of cryptocurrencies in the country, they still won't stop interested people from using it.
So for me, I think they best way that the government can possibly have a chance at being successful in this pursuit is to form a gambling education platform where citizens can be taught on the dangers of over gambling, people will willingly limit how much they spend on gambling and how much or how frequently they gamble also.
