According to the guy, he said this is not the first time, that he's friend trust he's source, whereas he never disclosed any information to us upon our efforts trying to get more info.

No, I have not had personal experience or proof. This is just a coincidence and nothing more. The English football league is a multi-billion-dollar industry that can ruin its goodwill by match fixing. I have heard these arguments several times and sometimes these so-called insider bets fail. Until there is verified evidence that these games are rigged, I wouldn't believe it. Crystal Palace was just lucky to win the game. It was obvious that Palace players were hungrier for the trophy.
