Since it's a pre-season cup, it's not worth putting too much weight on Liverpool, but Crystal Palace gave them a good lesson. I wasn't expecting them to fight for the title with the same hunger and excitement this season anyway.
I take it that it was a chance for them to win something, not knowing how the rest of the season would turn out for them but, I frankly didn’t see Liverpool loosing this one, not even holding the game to a penalty shootout. When it comes down to a penalty, the game could pretty much go either way, it’s a 50:50 chance and some goalkeeper perfection.
Crystal Palace did so well how they handled the game and even in the shootout.
Don’t know what this would mean for Liverpool going into this season but, it doesn’t put them in a good shape.
Dean Henderson was the reason why Crystal Palace won. Crystal Palace didn't played any better than Liverpool, Liverpool scored the first goal in 4th minute of the game with Writz and Ekitike, Crystal Palace got their first goal as a penalty and they needed to wait till the later stage of second half to get the equalizer goal. Penalty shoot out made Crystal Palace win. Liverpool was denied 3 goals, 2 of them saved by Dean Henderson. Salah was lackluster the whole game and missed his shot as well. Liverpool introduced 4 new plates today so it was also a new team.
