Always been wondering, although there may be preferences based on opinions. What Bitcoin wallet is the safest?
Funny how we attach so much about safety to the type of wallet we use or want to use and forgetting that a good percentage of the security is dependent on us and how we protect the access to such wallets. Be it an online or offline wallet, the only way a third party can gain access is if they have your keys or password as the case may be. So I suggest to focus more on how to protect and guid our keys and passwords than picking the best wallets to save our assets in.
Today there are news of some untouched wallet with huge sums of Bitcoin over the years, if the wallet quality was the yardstick to pick wallets, I believe some persons would have broken in and claimed those assets but because they do not have the key, phrase or passwords to those wallets, the wallets remains dormant and untouched for the longest until it's owners are able to come back with the passwords to access them. So learn first to protect your access and then if you must, use cold or none custodial wallets and you can be sure of the security of your assets but never use an exchange wallet to store your assets.
