You are right, if Nottingham Forest, who finished at bottom of the league last two seasons, could finish seventh last season, then Manchester United can achieve the same thing if they fix their problems.

....

manchester united should be able to perform better this season with the significant amount of money they have spent to sign šeško, cunha, and mbeumo, and possibly baleba (if they can secure the dea). the atmosphere in the team is also different now, filled with optimism and fresh energy brought by the arrival of new players and upgrades to the training facilities. with this, the team’s performance is expected to improve next season and help them return to competing at the top level. and i'm optimistic that they are able to improve their performance and maybe even get a top 5 position.

When a team signs new players, the fans always want them to have a successful season, and I'm sure Manchester United fans are expecting the same this season. I'm confident that the expectations of the fans for this season will be more higher. The two new signings have made an impact in preseason games, but have yet to score their first goal for the club. Sęsko will make his season debut, possibly against Arsenal.

However, Manchester United may be able to sign Baleba, and if they do, I am confident that it would improve their midfield since Mainoo is very slow with ball, and Manchester United need a guy who can win ball for them. However, Brighton is looking for for about €100m to allow the player leave after only one successful season at Brigton. Perhaps they don't want him to go this summer, which is why they're asking for so much money.
