The attack on privacy is a coordinated attempt by the government to control all and sundry, including perceived opposition or opponents whom they feel are against them, or maybe they could rise against them through any means, hence they want to, at all costs, make sure that there is nothing hidden.

The government can come and sleep in my bedroom with me every night, since they want to know everything about what each citizen or individual is doing in their private life.
