I have not faced this situation before and that is because I have not actively gambled offline. However, I have acted as escrow for offline gamblers and part of the rule is that until the person losing says he is done, the winning cannot quit. So, it is like fight to finish and due to this it sometimes end in fights and waste of time.
The only way one may not be affected by offline gambling is when you set your rules and stick to them, but it is unfortunate that most gamblers don't even have any rules in gambling, and they can be influenced to get addicted to gambling.

Having a good understanding and setting a rule, you can gamble whether online or offline without any negative effects. It is rules that make gamblers who they are without being changed by the gambling environment.

We are builders of our own faiths, after all, and the temptations will always be there, question is only how we react to them and handle the rest afterward.
