Do casinos profit from addiction, or do they truly promote "responsible gaming" as they claim?
If the gambler spend more than he/she is willing to lose, certainly the casino will benefited from it. It's a business and they need players to spend money and lose since that's how they can sustain their business to operate for long period. More losses from gamblers means big revenue.

But you have to ask yourself, If casinos eliminated all problem gamblers, would they still be profitable?
As long there are gamblers who continue playing and lose, then they can still profit. Because a gambler doesn't have to be addicted, what matter is the number of gamblers playing on their casino and lose. Regardless of if they are in control or a compulsive gambler.
