From the most played players (by minute) last season. Pedri is second most played, only 21 years old, and from La Masia, Yamal is the third most played, only 18 now, and from La Masia, Cubarsi is only 17 years old, and from La Masia, Balde too.
So when you think about all the players they get from there, they are really getting a ton of players from La Masia all the time, and there is really no logic in them focusing on getting more players from transfers. Getting free agents is fine, you do not pay a huge fee when you sign a free agent player, you end up with someone who does a good job, and that makes sense. I think that's the most important part, and if you can do that, then you can definitely allow yourself to get a lot better results.
Barcelona have one of the best academies in Europe. Players who graduate from La Masia are incredibly talented, and some have gone on to become club icons and even main stars. Lamine Yamal and Pedri are two players who are arguably the best graduates of the current generation, but there are others, as mentioned above. Academy players have always been at the heart of this team's success and they have made history, as they did last season. Lamine Yamal is one of the club's best young wingers and a potential super star if his career continues to develop.
For next season's La Liga, I think Barcelona will remain the main favorites for the title, followed by Real Madrid. Barcelona could fail to defend their La Liga title next season if their players perform badly, but I think we'll see more of their young players become stronger next season as they gain experience and age.
