May this story, stated by @OP be another lesson for those thrifters that there is no expensive things when it comes to security. That said, when securing a huge amount of money, we must make sure that there is no loop hole in our preparation, never think of the security being too expensive, especially if we plan to secure millions of dollar of pesos. A small gain from a cheaper transaction but unsure of the legitimacy of the item can cost us huge losses.
Do you know someone who is super cheap even when they may be well-off?
Yes. Me. I’m pretty sure I live the most frugal lifestyle of anyone I know. I still negotiate everything and do as many tasks as I can myself. My food choices are usually what is on sale or having a special. I exercise with my body weight instead of at a gym. I could go on and on… I actually despise people who waste money and view them as a weak link in their bloodline.
This is not being cheap but being smart. Why bother to pay for something when one can get it for free/cheaper without any negative effect in return?
