Do casinos profit from addiction, or do they truly promote "responsible gaming" as they claim?

As what we have seen, casinos are profiting from gamblers who can't control themselves and play as much money as they can and think that they can bring the house down. But we all know that the longer we play, the higher the chance that we are going to lose anyway.

Probably there are casinos that really have programs like self-exclusion and outright banning of players and promoting 'responsible gaming'.

But you have to ask yourself, If casinos eliminated all problem gamblers, would they still be profitable?

Gambling addiction means that gambling addicts will lose all their money and still come back to give the casino even more money. It is the same as with drug addicts being good business for dealers. But the casinos would still make a lot of money even without the relatively small amount of addicts, who lose all their money.

It is not a good thing, because of the damage it does to the addict. But from a purely business perspective, yes, there will be lost profits and there needs to definitely be more regulation to prevent addicts from going overboard and losing their money to greedy business owners who do not care about other people's well-being as long as they can make a few more cents...
