Something similar (merged casinos) happened few years ago (Betcoin and Playbetr). As I remember, players get their account merged as well but I'm not sure the exact procedure because I was not experiencing it myself. Perhaps Stake can so similar thing by merging the account, so players can continue their gambling activity. Adding the wager can be the only solution for those who have PD and Stake account which I think it is fair solution and a win-win solution for both players and the casino.
The scenario is a bit different because it's a new casino vs old casino so it's quite easy to make VIP transfers while here is old Casino vs old Casino so combining wagers is a reasonable idea for example if the wager combination qualifies for a new VIP level then the user will get a VIP bonus, well here old users really have an advantage because most of the accounts were created since 2013/2016.
