I also don't know about this attack so if this is the year that the attack discovered then it must what Outhue explained that the hacker wake up one day and decided to do the hacker's activity thinking that it's been 5 years so the victim should have forgotten about the hack and did not continue tracking the hacked funds but little did the hacker know that the victim is still waiting for the hacker to move the funds where that's the time the hacker was caught after a long time of not being found.
