Just today, I read the title of this post again “Buy the DIP and HODL” and decided to go over the OP again.
You know, buying the DIP is a good strategy but, that’s a strategy for those that really understand chart analysis or have to go over chart analysis before buying. That isn’t what we often see from the content of many comments on here, it’s more about DCA which doesn’t require any analysis to buy but just funds that you can spare or invest with and some knowledge on where to buy and what wallet to save it in.
Thats why, i feel the “DIP” in this title, could it have been Buy using DCA and HODL… not my thread but just a thought.
I understand what you're saying dear, I've tough about it too and think that it could be misleading for newbies cause many of them would think this thread supports them to only buy when there's dip and hold just like the name implies, but if they pay attention to what we're discussing about they'll understand that they should judge the thread by it's title but focus on the content and important informations we're sharing here amongst ourselves.
Buying the dip is never for a newbie since they're just starting, the first thing every newbie must do is start with the DCA and try accumulate periodically and the newbie won't even bother about analysing the market to know when to buy but can do it anytime whether during dip or not so far their discretionary is intact.
