Inter Milan were indeed lucky to qualify for the next champions league, I think one of the issues the team had last season had to do with strategic planning on the side of the coach, they were on the verge of doing a treble but couldn't even secure one trophy at the end of the day, so for me I think they were rather lucky to have secured a place in next season's champions League but I don't think they wouldn't be as lucky as they were last season seeing that the coach has left the team as well as some players too.
I think that a place in the Champions League was never really a problem for them and was guaranteed from the start. They competed with Napoli, but perhaps due to excessive caution and because they were paying more attention to the Champions League, they also missed the chance to win something else. But a place in the Champions League was secured for them from the very beginning. Now, in the Champions League, I think they will not be able to achieve anything significant, while in Serie A they might be able to achieve something, because the level of competition there is not very high at the moment.
