You are right, you need to study any environment before you can freely move in the environment, if you go ahead without studying the environment, you might get somethings wrong in the first place. Most newbies don’t take their time to study the forum well before they start interacting with other members in the forum that is why we newbies mostly make mistakes before we get things right.
Here are 3 things I wish I knew earlier:
-Short replies don’t help — you need to write like you're helping someone.
-Posts in quiet threads may never be seen — post where readers hang out.
-Original thinking matters — don’t copy anything, not even from your own posts.
All what you mentioned are very good suggestions, they can really help you rank up in this forum very fast.
However, consistency is required, you need to be consistent and be active in the forum.
Furthermore, short replies can be very helpful and needful and can be more important than some garbage spam from some spammers; therefore, just know what to write and compose it well.
