I have read something similar too. A man once won a good amount of money in gambling and was going home.
Little did he know there were people following him and once the person stopped near his house those guys attacked him and took his money and left the place.
This is one of the major risks of offline gambling which could have been easily avoided with online gambling.
I guess over the time, offline gambling will be run only on a few selected locations owned by people with powerful connections and rest all gambling hubs will vanish.
You are absolutely right, I've heard of a similar story though this is a bit worser than yours, the man was said to have won a huge sum of money while playing in a physical casino, instead of keeping this a secret, cashing out the money and quietly leaving the scene for this safety, he instead out of overwhelming joy threw a party in the casino  immediately and was buying drinks for almost everyone who cared to accept the drink from him, he celebrated and got alot of congratulations from different people he never knew or meet before.

When the whole jubilation was over, the man after cashing out the money decided to leave for him, unknown to him that some group of people have laid ambush waiting for him, immediately he came by, they stopped him, shoot him in the led, collected the money and ran away, that was how he lost both the money and his leg.. This is a good example of how dangerous gambling physically can be.

Hey, I guess it's the same story that I was talking about  Grin
I remember when I read it that person was attacked and when you said they shot him on the leg I guess it was the same one I read.
He lost his leg and the money that night. The moral is to keep your win silent no matter what happens.
