So far -  I'm not convinced that major leagues still practice match-fixing, but it's still possible as there's always room for cheating. Bookmakers are perfectly capable of paying off certain individuals -  including players and match officials to ensure matches end the way they want - but match-fixing appears to be very rare. Rare doesn't mean nonexistent - but it's still possible that it could happen in some games and that many gamblers will lose money.
