Despite being an away match , we saw Barcelona's superb dominance. Barcelona was able to perform admirably from the start of the match. Barcelona secured a 2- 0 lead in just 23 minutes. Barcelona had 72% of the ball possession throughout the match. Mallorca's players could not make a single strong attack in this match. Barcelona proved that they are a worthy contender for the La Liga title in the first match of the season. There is no doubt that it is going to be much more difficult for Madrid to dominate La Liga this season as well.
Barcelona looks set to repeat its glory days in La Liga, just like last season. I even see them being a little better in that match. But perhaps Real Madrid can do the same this season as Barcelona. Although I have a few doubts at the moment, I hope Real Madrid can do better than last season.
And as for Barcelona, I hope they can dominate the Champions League as well. Because it would be great for Hansi Flick if he could lead Barcelona to the Champions League title this season, after he successfully led Barcelona to the La Liga title last season. His career would truly take off. And perhaps the time will come when another big team will want his coaching services. But when that comes, I hope he remains loyal to Barcelona for several seasons, just like Pep did at Manchester City.
