I disagree with you a little on this even though we know that the grassroots football is our major setback. The selection process of the apex team couldn't have been influenced by the grassroots selection since the national team coach is at liberty to choose any Nigerian player from any league all Iver the world. His decision at that level is not influenced by any factor such as tribe and ethnicity but pure based on what he feels is best for his squad.
The Nigeria I know will not give the Super Eagles head coach the liberty to select the players that will represent us at national and international levels, and since we don't know what is written in the Super Eagles head coach's contract and what is happening behind the scenes, you can't be too certain that the Super Eagles head coach has the liberty to select the players he wants.
It's as simple as that, we can't keep on covering these corrupt officials behaviours with their insistent interference with how the national team squad is been shaped and their selections, not letting the technical team and the head coach to do their job freely. I won't be surprised that the contract penned by the coach comes with certain clauses that doesn't put him in position to make final decisions without their ratification.
