Atletico Madrid are playing with new players, so they still not having a good chemistry.
De Paul and Dias Lino left, they were stronger than to Cardoso.
This match is officially the first match for Almada, Baena, Cardoso, Hancko, Raspadori and Ruggeri
Almada, Cardoso and Baena did very well in the first half. I wonder why they get subbed off by Simeone.
If Simeone's trying to experiment with his players, he should not do that in the official game like this. He got rid all of good players out of the pitch and replaced them all with crap players. Their lose against Espanyol makes me feel i can't see them good season ahead. Finihing at 3rd or 4th must be their best.
I also don't understand what Simeone did in this match, substituting several players who should have been kept on the pitch. If he wanted to give others a chance, Atletico Madrid would have to lead by at least two goals or more. And I'm not sure if he was experimenting or what. But I also understand that the players he brought on were actually equally good. It's just that the chemistry would have been better if there hadn't been such a need for such quick substitutions. Hopefully, this defeat serves as a valuable lesson for Atletico Madrid that opponents can quickly turn things around if they're even slightly careless. The first half was already a good match. But this is just the beginning, and it's quite common to see surprising results in the first match of the season.
