The poor have no money because there are no jobs, there are no new factories or companies, and the government has failed to give entrepreneurs and companies incentives and a good working environment so they can set up businesses and factories. The poor people are more than willing to work if there are jobs available; they are ready to be tapped where there are jobs available
Not to mention that the cost of living continues to rise at an alarming rate. Despite central banks' claims that "inflation is under control", prices for goods and/or services are increasing at a very fast pace. It's going to be worse in the US with Donald Trump's exorbitant import tariffs. And with AI taking over most human jobs, it will be almost impossible for most people to get out of poverty.
The labor market is pretty tight, and will continue to be as long as the economy continues to degrade. Employers are now being very strict, by requiring experience (even on entry-level jobs) and an ample skill set. Trust me, I know. I had a friend who applied for many jobs to no avail. Hopefully, things will improve for the better in the future. We've living in uncertainty, so anything's possible.
