What do you propose and how should ICC decide which format should get the majority of the schedule?
Considering the current scenario, white ball (t-20, odi) series generates revenue for cricket boards (home) and it means, the one we call irrelevant bilaterals is source of income for many and it keeps them floating and in some cases even subsidize few tests.
At the moment, red ball cricket gets the vast majority of schedule. A typical full member nation spends anywhere from 50 to 60 days in test cricket per year, while limited overs cricket accounts for 25 to 40 days. And this is the same with almost all the full members, including Zimbabwe. Essentially red ball cricket is given a majority of the attention and focus, at the expense of white ball cricket. Most of the revenues are being generated from white ball cricket, BTW.
Yeah but again question remains the same, what's the solution?
More multiple team tourney similar to Asia Cup? Like european, African Cup and so on..
Or more irrelevant white ball bilaterals? Or jump into trilateral or quadrilateral series ( which I like)?
