In 2019, United Kingdom implemented a whistle to whistle ban on gambling advertising. Basically no gambling ads can be shown 5 minutes and 5 minutes after a sporting event to avoid kids and or other vulnerable people to see gambling ads when watching a big sporting match. As a gambler, what would you have felt about this? Especially if you were betting on the very same sporting match? Do you think that this was effective in reducing gambling rate in the country?
I don't even think If this will work, because most people don't need to even watch gambling ads for 5 minutes to be able to see gambling. Gambling is easy to get used to, even if it is not displayed as an ads. What about the kids that watch local men gambling on physical Casino or the locally shop where people play card game, dice game, chess and many other games where they learn gambling. This implementation may work to an extent. Most kids are watching ads from their Mobil phone so I doubt if this implementation even solve any problem.
