Grin I love this statement. They are indeed playing for pride. What are they proud of?
It would have been a big shame for the Home based Super Eagles to lose all their three groups games. At least they can be proud that they won a game and also didn't finish at the bottom of Group D.
It would have even been better if they had lost all 3 games and bury their head in shame and disgrace than winning the third game when they obviously knew that it won't change the fact that they are out of the tournament. The most disgraceful defeat they faced was in their last match against Sudan; they really broke the heart of Nigerians.

Were they promised a national award by the federal government? because am not aware they were promised $100,000 if they win the tournament.
