I know that Real Madrid is under transition and just getting settled with the new coach, but if they intend to really compete with Barcelona this season, they really need to improve their game because with the way the current Barcelona team is playing, scoring one goal in a game would be a disappointment to them; that is how good they are.
I've been saying this since. They have not improved much. Aside from their pressing, there's no big difference from last season's Madrid. Madrid's pressing is better now; they win the ball back quickly from the opponent, but they don't know how to make use of it. They don't create enough chances. The wings and the midfield don't create a lot of chances. They don't look like a team that will be very successful this season unless there are changes.
They were able to get the narrow win today because of the opponent they faced. Which is why they won't find it difficult to be in the top 3 of the league. When they meet teams that are not good, they will win, either by individual brilliance or by simply being better than that team, but when they meet formidable teams, they will struggle.
People don't see the flaws of the wing and midfield because they always seem busy, but when you look closer, you'll see their not doing a good job.
