In 2019, United Kingdom implemented a whistle to whistle ban on gambling advertising. Basically no gambling ads can be shown 5 minutes and 5 minutes after a sporting event to avoid kids and or other vulnerable people to see gambling ads when watching a big sporting match. As a gambler, what would you have felt about this? Especially if you were betting on the very same sporting match? Do you think that this was effective in reducing gambling rate in the country?
I don't think this is very accurate or effective in reducing gambling rates in a country. To reduce gambling rates, the government might need to take stricter measures, but this won't happen in countries that actually allow gambling. While the goal is to prevent children from seeing or being exposed to it, it's certainly a good thing. Unfortunately, there are so many gambling advertisements these days, and I've seen them not only on platforms but sometimes even in short videos, with the site name displayed.
