Even though Real Madrid won today's match, it wasn't that interesting for me because Madrid was only able to win thanks to a penalty taken by Mbappe even though Real Madrid dominated the game in possession and made many shots on Osasuna's goal but none of them were converted into goals, Xabi Alonso needs to change his strategy if he wants to compete closely in La Liga because Barcelona looks better than Real Madrid now, Real Madrid's attacks look easy for the opponent to read, that's why they are always thwarted by the opposing defenders.
Osasuna conceded the game in defense from the start. They gave the impression of a team that was all about defense and counterattacks. I don't blame them for that; Real Madrid normally plays well against teams that are down, but this is the first match of the season. It's important to remember that the players aren't fully prepared right now. They need to improve. I don't think they'll have any problems even against teams that play like this in the future.
This was beyond many people's predictions. Real Madrid, playing at home, were heavily favored and believed to win the match easily. However, it turned out not to be the case. Real Madrid only managed to win by a single goal, despite Osasuna's very defensive tactics. I think Xabi Alonso should have made many changes to the team's play and created more chances, but in reality, he didn't.
So, even though Real Madrid won the match, their overall performance was still quite disappointing.
