Before this game I did my research on the last three meetings of both clubs and discovered that Real Madrid have won two and drew one so I was confident of a win or draw today for Madrid I just wasn’t so sure if a win because it is Xabi Alonso’s first game but thank God he was able to record his first win on his first and opening Laliga game tonight. It’s an important three points for the team but a shame Rodrygo didn’t make get minutes today also.
Since Osasuna was Real Madrid's first game this season and also Xabi Alonso's first La Liga match as Real Madrid head coach, I was confident Real Madrid would beat Osasuna at Santiago Bernabeu. Despite Real Madrid beating Osasuna and taking all 3 points, Real Madrid didn't live up to my expectations, and if Real Madrid hadn't been awarded a penalty in the second half, the match would have ended in a goalless draw because Real Madrid was no threat to Osasuna. You shouldn't be surprised Rodrygo didn't play in Real Madrid's opening match this season because you know his relationship with Xabi Alonso is bad.
