Unfortunately, neither player has lived up to Amorim's expectations and neither has adapted to the tough competition in the Premier League. Amorim seemed to be trying to find a new format for the game, and bringing Mount in as a striker didn't produce any results, and even Manchester United struggled to create chances. A few substitutions made a difference, even though they failed to score, but I think this team has improved significantly compared to the previous season.
The new players are finding it difficult to adapt because the entire team are struggling even old players haven't adapt to the new system yet that's what I think is affecting them. I believe if they keep trying they will soon get the hang of the new style of play and will be better. I don't like the idea of playing Mason Mount as striker when you have many striker options, It will only reduce the confidence of the strikers because they will think the coach doesn't trust them and that won't help the team. Zirkzee, Sesko and Hojlund are all available but didn't start then why sign more striker when Mount is your choice as a striker and he expects goals from him.
