I am actually disgusted by what Europe is doing.
They think they can surveil platforms like Bitcointalk!
Oh my goodness, what a shame. What Europe once was and what it has become. Europe was successful during many decades as an alternative to extreme capitalism and communism, with a social democracy that combined considerable freedom of enterprise with a certain degree of redistribution. Fast forward, and it has become a behemoth that keeps passing more and more regulations, raising taxes and increasing control.
I believe that European politicians, including most parties that are considered right-wing, have swallowed that cultural Marxism that Yuri Bezmenov's talked about. Subliminally, without even being aware of it.
More competitive? They're not today, and if they follow this path, they won't be "tomorrow."
Yes, more competitive by crushing individual initiative with regulations and state control. They have it all figured out. At the beginning of the century, the EU's GDP was almost on par with that of the US, and today it is almost half. The response of politicians is to “fly forward”: to continue doing the same thing more radically.
What I think we have in our favor in this forum is that it seems to me that theymos is going to completely ignore whatever the EU might say, and if we use Tor or VPN while we can, this attempt at control will come to nothing. Furthermore, the US, where the forum is based, at least under the current administration, is against this madness.
