The most important factor to consider when starting to build a business is the target audience. You have to think of who would you want to cater to. Who are the communities that you may profit off of. Like for example if there is a school near you, you should know that students would be your target audience. You should start a business where students can buy materials from or a place they can study or even hang out around. I believe that if you studied your target audience, the first step of your business is already successful enough.
In any business it demands a proper market survey, and if you fails to conduct a survey before venturing into any business, it will affect your business if you eventually establish it, at first you need to consider the following
1. The population sizes of the environment
2. If their's already similar business existing within the environment
3. If social amenities can be a barrier of the business
4. The landscapes for the business you wants to establish
So all these are the factor we are ought to consider before establishing business, and without this investigations and you start a business, your competitors can make your own business to crash, and another thing is that, if what you have is not the demands of people living there, your business will also collapse
