I would say he made a huge blunder and gifted Arsenal that goal because if same scenario didn’t happen at the other end of the pitch with Arsenal where Raya was smart enough to make a save by punching the ball away with his right fist even when he was tackled same way Bayindir was tackled by Saliba maybe many persons would still be dwelling on that but Raya’s save settled the debate before it started.
Just because Raya was capable of punching it away, doesn't mean what happened to Altay was fair tackle. I mean in other leagues we do not see this type of goal because we see that during a cross, either corner or during the game, if the offense player even touches the goalkeeper when the goalkeeper is in the air, that is a clear foul.
We have seen Altay concede the same way twice now, and makes no sense that this is allowed in premier league, like how come this is some sort of ok thing when it's clearly a foul. If the goalkeeper is in the air, you can't touch them, push them, throw them, or tackle them, just overall you can't touch them. How else they are going to defend in the air, you can just push them when they are in the air and it's a guaranteed goal, makes no sense.
Everyone apart from those their team was favoured knows that tackle was bad, I heard some dude saying Altay was supposed to be strong and it's not Saliba's fault that he wasn't strong, sounded weird cause that's not part of football rule, a foul is a foul and all I can say is that the officiators of that match favoured Arsenal more.
If the PGMOL continues to allow that happen then it could become a normal and you'll continue to see players bringing different tactics to foul a goalkeeper during setpieces knowing that they won't get booked or called by the referee, makes no sense, and they have to look into it before it gets out of hand.
