Bet on South Africa in the first ODI and they didn't disappoint me at all. Both Markram and Bavuma carried over their excellent Champions Trophy form into this match and screwed the Aussies.
However, I didn't expect Australia to lose by such a big margin which isn't really surprising though considering how so many of their players are out of form and they are missing Starc + Cummins.
In this series too Australia strength was mostly considered good and should be, but South Africa hard work and efforts surprised everyone and they victory the match with a lot of hard work and every batsman and bowler in their team played well and hard, due to which Australia could not control South Africa l. Obviously, the South African batsmen had set a big target of 296 runs, for which the Australian batsmen were also ready, but the South African bowlers were also ready to play well in the field, due to which Australia team were defeated. It does not matter much, but they still made a target of around 300.
