In my opinion, it’s all about education. Poor people are generally less educated than wealthy ones, and as they get older, that can become a dangerous combination. Thanks to the internet, even young people from poor backgrounds can access the knowledge they need to avoid gambling addiction, while older folks often have no idea how to do that.

Don't you think education isn't the only thing that can prevent someone from getting addicted to gambling? If you look around, or simply do a survery or conduct a research, you will probably find more educated people who are addicted to gambling than uneducated ones, and with the advent of online gambling and cryptocurrency gambling platforms, the numbers are even increasing because people are now able to gamble from the comfort of their homes without any hassle because you don't even need to involve a third-party payment processor anymore since you can load up your account with crypto and gamble right away.

So, I think in the modern world, education cannot prevent someone from gambling addiction, but it can even add to it because of the ease the gambling industry has provided them. Someone who is uneducated wouldn't even know how to use an electronic device, or how to use cryptocurrencies, and they can only gamble if they can find a place for it, a physical one.
