Personally, I think a balance could’ve been struck — keep the hybrid push but don’t strip away the things that make F1 special. Right now, it just feels like they’re experimenting too much.
It's obvious that not all innovations and new regulations will be awesome, but I am not as hopeless about it as you guys, I think it is going to be overall fine, some will be bad and some will be better and we are going to perfect it overtime.
I get your point — F1 has ,,always,, been about innovation, and sure, not every regulation or tech update was a success. Some things stuck, others were rolled back. That’s natural for a sport that evolves as fast as F1.
But honestly, I think what a lot of fans miss isn’t ,,just,, the noise. It’s the whole package — the rawness, the edge-of-your-seat unpredictability, and yes, the engine sound was a big part of that. Fake noise might technically be possible, but it won’t bring back the same feeling.
People loved F1 because it was an authentic mix of speed, danger, and pure racing spirit, not just a show. You can’t really fake that, even if technology allows you to. But hey, that’s just my personal opinion — some fans might feel differently, and that’s what keeps the debate alive.
