It's really funny reading that some persons are criticising Alonso after the match against Osasuna. It's just one match, for crying out loud, and it's not as if they lost the match. I could remember last season when Mbappe didn't score in his first four or five matches and critics branded him a failure. However, he ended up being the highest scorer in the league. My point is, it's too early to criticise Alonso. He's a new coach, and he's still getting to know his players and the league.
I understand you are seeing it as been too early to start dishing out criticism but on a second taught we do not have to wait the whole season to state the obvious when we can even from the very beginning, for a club like Madrid the expectations are very high and this starts from the beginning of the season, do not forget their performance at the club world cup was not too good either. You never can tell, maybe early criticism as this could influence the teams performance moving forward.
I'm a Real Madrid fan and even though I'm aware that some of the criticisms Xabi Alonso have received since the club's narrow wins in their league's opener came from fans of the club, I don't think he deserves to be criticized at the moment. This is his first season at the club and we all know, he has his style of football which many refer as "Xabi ball". He's obviously trying different options to know which is best for him. I believe he'll make a great manager for Real Madrid and win plenty trophies at Santiago Bernabeu so why criticize him this early?
