Following the departure of Xabi and several key Leverkusen players, I am less optimistic about the possibility of fierce competition in the Bundesliga. This means that Bayern Munich has lost its challenge and will easily dominate the league. Bayern Munich's first match is against RB Leipzig, so do you think we will see other candidates challenging Bayern Munich for the title?
Borussia Dortmund may be a tough opponent for Bayern Munich, but I think Leverkusen will have a year that's different from last year's performance. The manager should have a positive impact on Leverkusen. However, I don't have high hopes for the Dutch manager; he should still be given a chance. I'm sure the management, which brought in and trusted the Spanish player Xabi, also showed some consideration for Erik ten Hag. That's why I have some faith in him, because the team management trusts him.
Dortmund should be a contender for the trophy this season as they may be one of the closest teams to rival Bayern. If we look at the Leverkusen team and it's new manager, are we really going to expect much from him. We will wait to see that when their matches will start. Leverkusen under the leadership of Ten Hang can actually surprise us. But I think I will pick Dortmund to perform better than Leverkusen.
I also think Borussia Dortmund will be better than Leverkusen this year. For some reason, many people aren't expecting a great performance from Bayer Leverkusen this year. Perhaps this will ease the pressure on the manager. I understand people's feelings about this, considering his unsuccessful spell in the Premier League. Xabi Alonso was a very important manager for Bayer Leverkusen and is now at Real Madrid. He was a manager who completely rebuilt the team. I don't know if the Dutchman will do the same.
It would have been a little bit easy for Erik Ten Hag to continue Xabi Alonso's legacy at Bayer Leverkusen if Bayer Leverkusen's best players didn't join other clubs this summer, but since Bayer Leverkusen's best players left this summer to join other clubs, it will be difficult for Erik Ten Hag to perform like Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen because the current squad depth of Bayer Leverkusen can't compete for the German Bundesliga title this season.
