Barcelona looks like a perfect team, unbeatable. However Real Madrid is still Real Madrid, and with their winning mentality, they can put up a formidable fight. The battle between these two teams looks set to get even more exciting this season. I hope two more teams join the title race alongside them to make La Liga even more exciting to watch.
I hope so too. The two more clubs could still be Atletico Madrid which came as 3rd position with a total of 76 points and the Athletic Club which came 4th with 70 points last season. Last two seasons, Girona also did excellently well by coming in the third position but last season they played a mess and ended up weaker than we expected from them. I hope they will also be stronger, more competitive and more consistent this season. Real Madrid seems to be more prepared for the championship this season than the last but we cannot tell what to expect yet since the dynamics do change st any given time.
Girona will not be "that" good again, not for a while I assume, it's clear that they had one good year. Just because they are part of City group, doesn't make them suddenly that much better, they had a good year and they liked that, but they are going to end up realizing they are not a big enough club to consistently do this.
Bilbao, both Madrid teams and Barcelona are the top four teams and that will stay like that because of the size of the clubs. The fan numbers, the income they have, and all the infrastructure they have built over course of decades makes that a possibility. Real Madrid has been at this level for 50 years, how could Girona be good in 5 years. That is why we are going to see these teams have different approaches and not the same level again.
