I am actually disgusted by what Europe is doing.
They think they can surveil platforms like Bitcointalk!
Do you know what will happen?
Northern Europe was home to some of the best servers in the world, especially the Netherlands and Germany. If all these measures advance to the level that has been discussed (which also has some exaggeration in the mix), many will move their websites from servers in Europe.
Many will stop providing their services "officially" in Europe and people will be able to continue using everything normally.
I keep saying that these rules will only push people toward the side they want to fight. Instead of this "parallel side" diminishing, it will only increase.
I agree with you! The irony is that every time governments try to “choke” the parallel economy, they end up strengthening it. Torrents survived, darknet markets adapted and now privacy tools and Bitcoin are just following the same path.
In the end, servers will move, users will adapt and decentralization wouldn't die instead, it simply reroutes. In the long run, these restrictions don’t shrink the parallel side, they multiply it.
