I never imagined that leipzig would start the season so badly. We thought we would enjoy a competitive match. Bayern mmunich had a high chance of winning, but we expected Leipzig to fight hard. But the team completely saddened me.
I am very disappointed with Leipzig's performance. The team lost by a huge margin of 6-0. Munich was leading 3- 0 at the end of the first half. In the second half , Harry kane's hat- trick ensured Bayern Munich won 6 -0. Leipzig's players did not play defensively. The team managed to take 12 shots. But they were unable to score a single goal.
Bayern munich was very aggressive in the first match. It seems that their performance has improved this season compared to last season. munich's new forward Luis Diaz also performed well in this match. Diaz scored one goal and provided two assists.
No one imagined Bayern Munich scoring 6 goals against Leipzig especially being the first game, yes Bayern was the favorites but we expected a more competitive game at least, Leipzig disappointed their fans losing in this manner.
The addition of Luiz Diaz is really good for them he will definitely help the attack and make things easier for Harry Kane and Olise. Bayern has always been the team i always see Diaz to do well at because Liverpool seems to be signing younger prospect trying to build a solid team.
Or maybe this is an indicator of how weak Leipzig's defense is now, because to concede 6 goals out of 10 shots on target is also a lot.
I think Leipzig have a long work to do with this defense, I don't know if Bayern Munich attack is too good for them but if they don't improve the defense they will definitely struggle throughout the season. Let's just hope it's just a bad day.
