The only time I actually do see a need to increase my betting amount is if I'm running low on my balance and I don't see a need to stay longer in the casino. Again, I can decide to increase my remaining balance to just serve me for two more spins, which, if I'm lucky, I can increase that amount by winning, or, if I'm also unlucky, it will save me much more time, and I will leave the casino quickly and face other things. I don't do this often, but in some cases, I usually consider it as a necessary move.
