Their 2-1 home defeat is a major problem. Everyone had their doubts about Erik Ten Hag. And they're probably right, because they played terribly in the first leg. Despite scoring in the sixth minute, they seemed to have shown they weren't going to win the Bundesliga title. Ten Hag looks set to be a major disappointment after Xabi. What are your expectations for Leverkusen this year?
I can’t be judgmental about them just after one match defeat, they still have a lot of games to be played this season which they may change their pattern of playing and come out better than they are now. Eric Ten Hag is a very experienced coach, but sometimes you just have to put more efforts and will be faced with some setbacks during your managerial career, so I don’t really think it’s a bad outcome for him entirely for this season.
This was an home match which he could have won to win the love of the fans and also gain more trust by the fans and team management, but it’s so unfortunate they failed to win the match against Hoffenheim which happens to be the smaller team to have conceded defeat against them. Let the preparation for the next game begins through vigorous training sessions and they should also learn to take advantage of their chances more when playing matches because only with that can they become better in the league.
