I believe users should be reminded of this on all betting sites. This should help the most addicted users and can prevent problems of losing bankrolls or impulsive deposits. So, warning is always good.
I think 99% of gambling sites have something called gamble responsibly on their site and yet it’s still not effective against gambling addiction. I have said it countless times, just putting a warning up doesn’t really do much if the gambler isn’t ready to change, people who smoke despite the warning do you think it’s because they don’t know how to read? It’s not, it’s just that their mind has already been set on smoking so they do it despite the warning on the packets of the cigarette.
This is the same with gambling, just putting a banner at the top of the site or endorsing a celebrity to give warnings to gamblers that gambling won’t take them away from poverty really isn’t doing anything. I think they should employ a better approach than this one.
Improving the approach depends on regulators, rather than casinos themselves, they won't invest their own money to discourage gamblerS to deposit and play on their games, that is obvious. Also, one needs to be careful on where the line between individual freedom and regulation is drawn.
Those warnings popups you see on websites or the warnings on cigarettes packages are intended to inform users, and that is the only purpose of them, as ultimately the choice is individual, and it is an important part of having free will.
