Well, I tried using Firefox, and it works just fine—no freeze or slowdown.
What are your current device specs? It might just be a RAM issue; that's why it takes long to load or it freezes because you don't have enough RAM memory.
If you have a laptop with a Celeron CPU and 2GB of RAM, then expect to see slowdown when browsing.
To confirm whether there is really a issue with this forum, OP should check the behavior with this forum compared to other sites. If his system freezes for all sites including bitcointalk, your response might be valid for him and he should act as per the suggestion offered.
